Abstract: A prediction method—Two Section Method,suitable for prediction of reservoir bank caving in the gorge of mountain area in the south of China,and its application conditions,determination of parameters and operating steps are presented on the basis of observation of the bank slope caving of the Shuikou reservoir on Waiyang-Fuzhou railway line.These results have been successfully applied in the design of reservoir bank caving and bank slope protection of the reservoir on Waiyang-Fuzhou railway line as a important reference to the design of similar reservoir bank project.
